NTU-PKU JRI Workshop 2019 @ ShenZhen  
   
   
   
The Fourth PKU-NTU JRI Worksh​op on AI+ took place in Peng Cheng Laboratory, Shenzhen, China, Dec. 13-14, 2019. The workshop was attended by over 50 researchers from NTU, PKU as well as NTU Alumni. Through this meeting, we further strengthened collaborations between universities from two countries and the relations with industry partners. We exploited potentials that can be accelerated into smart city development in China and Singapore, created new opportunities for faculty from universities, researchers from academia and to discuss technical research topics and broader inter-disciplinary in the aspect of AI+.
 
   
At this workshop, we invited top experts from AI academia and the industry including Prof. Wen GAO (Peking University), Dr. Jie CHEN (Boyun Vision), Dr. Lin YANG (Gyrfalcon Technology Inc) and Ms. Yuan ZHANG (China Telecom). Their talk focused on the theme of AI+ and the significant applications in Smart Cities, as well as presenting the state-of-the-art AI research and development including deep learning, computer vision, image/video search, brain-like computing, standardization, and etc.
 
   
The progress of JRI programmes was reported at this workshop by faculty and student representatives from both PKU and NTU. In particular, we have also invited several distinguished JRI/ROSE Alumni to share their story and latest work in academia or industry at this workshop.

NTU-PKU JRI Workshop 2018 @ Macau  
   
   
   
The Third PKU-NTU Workshop on AI+ will take place in Venetian Macao Resort Hotel Macao, China, Oct. 13-14 2018, which will be co-located with the MPEG-124 meeting, Macao, 2018. Through this meeting, we want to further strengthen collaborations between universities from two countries and the relations with industry partners and the Rapid-Rich Object Search Lab (ROSE) Alumni, exploit potentials that can accelerate smart city development in China and Singapore, create new opportunity for faculty from universities, researchers from academia to discuss technical research topics and broader inter-disciplinary in aspect of AI+.

NTU-PKU JRI Workshop 2017 @ Guangzhou  
   
The Second PKU-NTU Workshop on AI+ will take place in Langham Place Hotel Guangzhou, China, Jun 14-15 2017. Through this meeting, we want to further strengthen collaborations between universities from two countries and the relations with industry partners, exploit potentials that can accelerate smart city and Smart Health and Education development in China and Singapore, create new opportunity for faculty from universities, researchers from academia and officials from government to discuss technical research topics and broader inter-disciplinary in aspect of AI+, and show sincere appreciation to our donors for their generous support for this programme.

NTU-PKU JRI Workshop 2016 @ Singapore  
   
NTU-PKU Joint Research Institute (JRI) is organizing a Workshop for NTU and PKU faculty and researchers to learn more about each other's work and to facilitate further collaboration between the two universities.

We are targeting about 10 presenters each from NTU and PKU with the main focus on topics related to the research in ROSE Lab. Each participant will be allocated 20-30 mins (including Q&A) for the presentation. The presentations will be scheduled in the first two days. The final day will be for individual and group discussions.
